how high does it go ? first thing in the morning my dodge goes to about 1200 for a couple seconds then down to about 800-900 untill its at operating temp then stays around 700. my toyota at first startup goes to 1000 and stays there for like 5min until its warm then goes to 800. my chrysler car does about the same thing as my toyota.

Check the throttle position sensor and/or the idle air control sensor if you're really concerned about it

Have changed both those sensors plus the MAP sensor when I was having trouble soon after I purchased the truck.Runs great now but was just curious if the idle like that at start-up even when hot was normal.Guess it's ok.
