Question About Dodge Dakota 95 speedometer?

Default Question About Dodge Dakota 95 speedometer?

They give me a dodge Dakota 95 that im working on myself but idk what could be wrong with the speedometer does any one know where i could check to see if there's any loose cables or something!!

You didn't say what the speedometer is doing. I'm assuming it is just not working, my best guess is the speed sensor which is on the transmission (2wd) or transfercase(4wd).

It could be the transmission speed sensor most likely. Or a bad printed circuit board. My tachometer went haywire and died finally. When ibtook out the cluster, the printed circuits to the tach weren't shiny and gold like it was supposed to be like the others that were fine on the board

Yeah sorry it wont move!! and also one of my friends told me i could fix it around the transmission (2wd) but idk what im looking for??

Rear tailshaft of the transmission. Where the drive axle attaches to. There will be a couple wires and a plug going to the speed sensor there. But if its a very early Dakota, I believe the 88's and 89's were cable driven
