Default Tire recommendations?

When i first got my truck running, i didnt have money to go out and buy new tires. so my dad found some barely used ones at spaldings leftover from the Cash4clunkers deal. well now theyre just about worn out after about 2 years
in those two years ive put about 20k miles on the tires and they are cheap off-brands so i'd say thats to be expected.

Ive looked around CL for my area but most of it right now is just snow tires that people dont want anymore. i also figured that now that ive got some money to work with i'd rather go with some new tires and maybe get a bit more life out of them.

Currently im looking at getting a set of 4 Hankook DynaPro ATM RF10's in LT235/75/R15. it looks like i can get the whole set for around $520 (more depending on tax).

before i do that however i wanted to get some recommendations on what you guys think is a good tire for the Dakota.

I put fairly cheap Firestone Destinations on mine (235's) a few months after I bought it. They've got 15k or so on them and I drive with a lead foot and they've still got a ton of tread on them.

the tires arent completely worn out, but they are worn down enough that i feel its costing me MPG. i recently rotated them front-back because the front ones were almost bald on the edges and the rears were almost bald in the center (one moreso than the other) so i think new tires are in order. i want tires that will last under aggressive driving and the DynaPro's look like they would work well, plus the price is good.

Less tread will actually give you better gas mileage because there's less resistance.

thats kind of strange cause ive been driving the same way all the while. started out getting ~16.5mpg then sometime it just dropped. now i can barely get 16 unless i drive like a grandpa. doesnt uneven tire wear affect MPG?
