Fuel pump access
so i got the fuel gauge not working right problem and want to pull the pump out and fix it but was wondering if its easier to pull the bed off or drop the tank? I only got a few hours after work everyday to work on her. thanks
i got the same problem and haven't fixed it yet, luckily its not on the road yet. what is the exact part that i need and how much did it cost ya. when i got my truck it had a few fuel pumps in the tool box in the back and one looked new if you could post a pic of the exact part that i need that would be great
Remove bed Vs drop tank is always an open question.
If you can get the tank to only a few gallons or less then dropping the tank is usually easier. Also if your by your self then you have no choice. (Note driving on empty can burn up the pump)
If you have a friend or 2 to help you and you can't get the tank empty then removing the bed is your best choice. When you lift the bed, place it on top of stuff so you don't cave in the fenders.
