I just bought this Dakota less than a month ago and the transmission is revving really high shifting into second. But shifts fine through every other gears. I was told it was a shift solenoid..anyone know if this is right?

 

It is probably a sticking valve in the throttle body in the transmission. Take it to a transmission shop and see what they say, most will do a free test drive.
