Default intermittant od issue

hey guys, i have a 95 dakota with 3.9 and most of the time when i start the truck the od light is on. sometimes after that i can turn the od on ( light off) and sometimes i cant. also the other day i drove it around quite a bit and a few times when id start the truck the od light would be off like its supposed to be. im kind of wondering if this is a temperature related issue, or possibly the switch as the switch feels like its either sticking or faulty. i heard theres a way to use a toggle switch connected to the cpu to see if its indeed the switch thats bad. i assume the plug on the firewall on the engine side with like 8 -10 wires coming out is where i need to splice the toggle switch? if so, which wire exactly? meaning which color. also does anyone have a picture by chance?

another reason why i suspect its the switch is i trying pulling engine codes and there were none present except the normal ones 12 and 55. so that tells me the sensors SHOULD be working as intended. unless the cpu itself is bad heh other than the intermittant od issue, the truck drives great. speedo, tach, and all gauges work, no surging issues, shifts great in gears 1 through 3 even.
