Default TC Weight

Has anybody ever successfully welded a weight on a torque converter to bolt the a500 to a 5.9 motor? Thanks

Just buy the correct torque converter for the 5.9. Double check if the Torque converter has the same splines as the transmission you want to use. Also if it is a 5.9 Magnum 93-up then the A500 will not last long. Dodge didn't put them behind the V8 Magnums for a reason. Your 92 5.2 V8 Magnum should of came with a 46rh which is the same transmission for the 5.9 Magnum.

what year 360? (I hate the "liter" designations having grown up with engines expressed in CUBIC INCHES!!)
If it is a Magnum 360 then buy a 96 or newer flexplate the weight is built in, then you can use your current TC!

the Magnum 360s are still ext balance but the a different amount of weight comparted to the old LA 360s...Mopar Perf used to sell the "weight kits" with a diagram as to where to put it in reference to where the "slightly offset" attaching bolt lug is on the converter

yup I do have; new diaphragms, (the good silicone ones even) hose, some fittings and such; I have $200 tied up in it with the rebuild kits, hose etc; but wound up selling the truck due to driving situation change (driving WAY more miles than I ever used to) for my Dakota... I miss my D 250... make me a decent reasonable offer this stuff is collecting dust now.
I also have a tank here that will probably wind up in the scrapyard, no way to get that from here to canada unless someone wants to do a road trip; it fit between the bedsides of a fullsize truck I doubt it would fit in a car trunk...
