Default '94 Dakota won't fire

I have a 1994 Dakota 2wd 3.9 liter that won't start. Fuel is pumping to the carburetor but it won't ignite. The pink 30 amp fuse blows out whenever replaced. I replaced the ignition coil and it started and ran for all of seven seconds before it cut off and the fuse blew again. Anyone have any experience with this kind of problem?

These trucks have two pink 30 amp fuses in the power distribution center / relay box under the hood. One for the starter, a/c clutch, radiator fan relay & the other one is to the power control module. If your getting fuel pressure it's probably the fuse labeled B in the box. This sounds like a grounding issue or that splice that's notorious in these trucks.

Trace the wires out of the box that keeps blowing the fuse. Check for shorts or corrosion. If you don't find any loose connections. There is a bulk head connector at the firewall that you can unplug & see if connections are clean. Check all your grounds.

Can you describe where the bulk head connector will be and what it'll look like?

Checked the wires. No corrosion, no splice issues.

It's on the drivers side directly behind/below the washer reservoir under the hood at the firewall. It's a connection with wires that's from your fuse box under the dash that runs to your relay box. I had a issue with it being corroded on a connector tab & it just fell apart when I unplugged it from corrosion. It's wrapped with electrical tape & has a rubber boot around with a long thread bolt running through it. I just drilled a 1/4 hole in the firewall and wired it to the wires with the bad connection behind the fuse box.

Checked and everything is running into it fine. No splits, no corrosion, nothing.

Did you unplug it & check the terminals?

Could you elaborate? I'm learning the majority of this as I go along.

There is a bolt that runs through that connector that you gotta take out before you can unplug it. If your truck keeps blowing fuses there is a possibility that there is a bad corroded or wet terminal(s) inside the connection at the firewall. When I pulled mine I had a terminal just fall apart from corrosion.

If this is what you're talking about it seems like everything is fine.
