Default My Dakota. What Ya Think

This is my dakota. 1991 single cab long box. 3.9L 2WD auto. stock everything besides stereo system. I picked it up for $400. so far Ive replaced all the brake lines and hoses, fuel lines. air filter, new battery, new headlights and a couple lightbulbs, heater core, new 235/75/15 tires, and obviously swapped out the box for a flatbed. Some plans to come include 2-3" suspension lift(havent decided how yet but probably the cheapest way possible). New paint, 31" tires, and i would love to drop in a 318. Im still in high school and am going to college next year so money is tight for me right now and not to mention i am not in a wealthy family by any means, so i can only do a little here and there and far in between.

But any who, for the 318 swap, what do they usually run price wise. i know it depends on where i can get the engine and how much the person/place wants but what would be a rough estimate on the price to do one.

Nice. Looks good.
I always say if I kill my bed by getting in an accident or something offroad I would make a flat bed.

Nice truck, you must be a farm boy, cab lights and a flat bed. Stay in touch for your 318 swap cause we have a lot of parts laying around . . . cheep.

91 was an odd year alot of transition parts being the magnum was coming in 92....the 318s were 1 year only heads etc....
I had a 90 longbed several years ago; that was a great truck.

$1000 to $1300 on the cheap with no engine issues or trans issues, and no labor.

Well for one the tail gate was rusted out so i took that off and i was working on welding one up but got half way through and decided to says F*ck it and started unbolting the box. I have to replace my sending unit anyways and would rather not drop the gas tank.

But i like the flat bed better. I liked the box and all but the flat bed in my opinion suits the truck better.

well to add more fuel to the fire I threw on some mudflaps this weekend. They were made from round baler belt, but the cab lights where on the truck when i bought it and i would rather have the flat bed. and when i get around to it i am gonna put the bug guard back on also.
