Default Cam broke?

Truck stalled coming home last week.Upon research found the rotor does not turn when turning the truck over.Suspected bad or broken timing chain..Found this am after tearing it down, chain and gears are fine. I have not pulled the distributor gear out yet but will be my next project. If this is not it wouldn't it be the cam broke?

unlikely.....could take valve covers off and turn engine over by hand and see if the valves move.....most likely distributor issue.

I bet it's the distributor, good luck with it.

Had a rain day and Im working outside so no go on working on my truck today.I did however check the distributor itself and it seems fine.Bottom sleeve for shaft is a little loose but know this isnt the problem. Will be sunny tomorrow so will tackle the cam timing gear and see what I got.

Not a timing issue, it's a fuel sync issue, it'll have to be set by a competent shop with a capable scanner.

Im unsure of this..Never had that problem before. Will find out more after I reset timing and cam gear.It starts right up and by adjusting timing each time its getting better.Ill consider your suggestion if my problem persists.

You aren't adjusting timing by moving the dizzy, you're adjusting the fuel sync (fuel injector timing).

Im not just moving the distributor.I replaced the cam gear and now cant get the timing right. Will keep playing with it and will get it right eventually.Im not prone to bringing my vehicles to garages and paying outrageous prices.Ty anyways.
