Default Fuel gauge

Hi,I have a 95 Dakota 3.9 auto ext cab 2WD.I Replaced the sending unit and pump assm, but the fuel gauge only reads between a 1/4 and 1/2.If I remove the pump and move raise and lower the float arm manually, the gauge responds. The Gauge worked fine prior to fuel pump R&R I see 2 marks on the top of the fuel tank that look like indexing marks, and mark on the pump that i lined up with those marks,I have left the locking nut for the pump assembly slightly loose so i could rotate the pump a little in case the float was hitting the side of the tank but still no luck.Any ideas?

Sounds like it is still hitting the side. I had a similar issue after reinstalling my tank, but I reseated the float and no problems afterward, Try re-reseating it.

Yes sounds like it just needs to be adjusted. This post has some details on adjusting it.
