Default Front shock mounts rusted

I need some advice please. I have a 96 dakota 4x4 SLT and see that the front shock mounts are rusted pretty bad. I have been looking at weld on mounts as a solution and see that there are several out there. Any one have experience with this and a set of mounts that works that you could clue me in on?

Thanks in advance!
John

Your best bet is just like you said to weld some up, nothing exact just take some measurements and see what would work best.

They have to match up pretty darn close..( for arm clearance and shock fit)..found out the hard way. I got mine with one fit/weldeld from 1/4 plate..A nightmare with arm hitting and new shock not wanting to fit = Trimmed with a torch after wrecking a rancho.

I wondered if cutting the mount and surrounding frame(do an overlap) from a scrapper might be better?
