Default 231 to 242 swap questions

ok i've gotten my hands on a 242 from a 03 grand cherokee. i have to straighten or replace the mainshaft and other than my shifter and rear d shaft.
the shifter i know what to do and that isn't a problem. the question i have for the guys that have done this. other than changing the slip yoke on the rear shaft was the length ok? did you have to have it lengthend or cut down?
i'm not asking you to tell me on myne what i will have to do but i was hoping that someone who has done this could tell me what they had to do.
the reason is that it's my daily driver and if everyone chimes in saying that they had to have a longer shaft made up then i'm going to try to work out that part before i tear into it so that i can shorten my down time. there are a few other things i have to address before i can put it in but this is the one that is leaving me hanging since iv'e not had a chance to pull myne out and look at how it fits.

i've read through that thread already and i didn't see my specific question clearly addressed there. i've tried google. the thread on the other forum appears to be for using a 242d not a 242j. thank you guys though. i had thought someone elseon here had done this with a j.
