Default cruise control swap

First off Hi all new to the forums! i just picked up a 93 Dakota sport reg cab 3.9 v6 4x2 a few days ago. its bone stock so I've been hitting the junk yard grabin parts left and right to up date it a little.

I have the stock Dakota w/o cruise control. my local junk yard has a fully loaded 94 gen 1 ( not sure if its v6 or v8) kota with CC in it.

1.could I pull all the parts including the steering column and drop them in my kota?
2.would my original computer work? (if the junk yard kota is a v6)
3.did they use a universal wire harness in the early gen 1's?
4.has anyone on the forum here done it?

hope you guys can help ~ Big D

everything should be plug and play...but i'm not completely sure on this. i know my 91 didn't come with cruise but it has all the connectors.

it should work with your current computer

This just reminded me that I was needin to ask about mine, I'm thinking there is a vaccum leak somewhere since mine will not engage...hasn't for a good bunch of years now. Anyone got ideas on where it might be or if it's a common problem spot?

its been so long since i got rid of my 93 which had it. first i would check the fuse. someone had put a 5amp in mine and it blew the first time i tried it. i put a 10 amp in and it was fine ever since. otherwise check the connector at the module, then follow the vacuum lines off the module going into the other lines
