Default Half Shaft Removal

Quick question, The half shaft boot on my 92 4x4 5.2 is torn and i need to replace but i gotta wait till this weekend to pick up 2 new halfshafts. Can i remove the busted one and drive without it???

If so whats the easiest way to remove??

No, I wouldn't drive without it because you cant plug up that hole where the half shaft plugs into and you'll get all sorts of crap in there. If your buying a new one anyway, then why not just drive with the boot torn until you get a new one. But also, if it hasn't been torn for a while and no dirt got into the boot, then you could just buy a new boot. THey're much cheaper.

You can not drive without the CV axle half shaft. The wheel bearing uses the shaft to hold it together. If you drive without it you wheel will fall off in 5ft.
