Exclamation New Tires!

Hey guys, I'm getting ready to buy some new tires. After lots of research I have narrowed it down to these two tires... What I like about the BFG is that they make a 32x11.5x15 and bigger is better, but on the other hand the duratrac is a much better tire in every condition but they don't have a 32" tire so I'll go with 31x10.5x15. Got my info from tirerack.com and made it into the picture above. Opinions?

Here are some pics of the two tires in the sizes I'm thinking of and similar rims I'm getting (cragar soft 8) I like a tall wide aggressive tire. I have 3.55 gears and a 3.9 Magnum. It's my DD but i want a tire that can handle rain, snow, and mud for when I head off road

Currently running 30x9.5x15 BFG All-Terrain's and I've struggled in mud and hydro-plain in heavy rain sometimes. Here is the most recent pic of my truckName: IMAG0770.jpg

The BFG A/T are great for mild offroading very bad in thick mud. Great traction though. To me they wear extremely fast. I have heard good reviews of the wranglers for the same mild offroading.

Its up to you on this one they both are equal I guess. My only suggestion is to look at the tire size they are always smaller then they state. Typically the BFG A/T 33 is about 31.5 tall when on the truck. Knowing the TRUE actual size (Not what the paper says) will help you choose the best size.

I ran the BFG M/T KM2 on a Z71 I had and they were awesome in mud/snow, never had any issue with water on the roads, looked mean as hell and wore pretty good, and hardly any road noise

Yeah, I posted the actual sizes of the tires on the picture. Duratrac's are 30.5 tall and BFG's are 31.7(I say 31.6 because the tred on the BFG is .1 inches shallower than the Duratrac's 17/32 vs 18/32). I think that I am gonna go with the Duratrac's because the seem to do better in everything I need them to. The only trade off is 1.1" of height, .8" of width and the sidewall on the Duratrac's aren't as tough as the BFGoodrich. That's a pretty good trade off right?

I had a bald set of primewells on my dak, I used my spare that was a goodyear with FULL tread. that goodyear broke loose more than any other tire I have ever used, even more than my balding $225 FULL SET of cheapo primes.
Now my old man moved up after giving my the dak and got himself a 10' 1500 Hemi, with wouldn't you guess... goodyear wranglers. He has had many vehicles with many tires. and gives them the name- "Good For A Year" for a good reason. The inside bands have moved and slipped making them impossible to correctly balance. let alone the terrible tread wear for only Highway driving...and he drives like a little old grandpa 98% of the time. I will never get goodyears. Ever.

But thats just my experience with them, some might have had better luck, but I have never had any problems whatsoever with bfg.

Btw thats a nice lookin Dak you got there

Quick edit- Nothing is better on ice. Ice has no traction save the snow thats on it. (LOOOT of black ice where I live)

Did you get each tire and use a tape measure to measure each one? Or did you just find the specs on the internet. Like I said its always different then what is listed on paper/internet.

Thanks for the compliment The reason I started looking into these tires is cuz my best bud got a set of them on his 01 Silverado and he does a lot better than i do in just about any terrain. After I saw how good they did I did some online research and saw that is a pretty new tire to the market and nothing but great reviews. I mean, I love BFGoodrich but I do horribly in mud and deeper snow (6"+) and okay in less than that. But my biggest concern is that, say it's raining down pretty hard and I'm at a light turning to my right (so I am yielding to oncoming traffic to turn on a red light) when I go to accelerate (and not very hard just enough to not get in the person behind me's way) I hydroplain and my rear tires just spin out so I have to slow down for them to get traction. My friend never has that problem. And in rainy Oregon I need a superb rain and snow tire and BFG seems like it can't put up with it... or is it just me?
