Default Large brake leak 94 Dakota

So I haven't had a chance to get this up to check exactly whats leaking "working 50 hours this week", but I did some hose changeouts this last week near the throttle body on the passenger side. Anyways, worked out great, engine is already seeing improvement, I still have a little bit of random metallic rattle but I think its the catalytic converter "theres a huge hole in it on the bottom". Anyways I started it up to ensure everything was tight, and as soon as I put my foot on the brake to backup and give it a little stop and go test, my foot went to the floor. I could hear the fluid leaking out. The leaks under the engine nowhere near a wheel, is there a valve under there? I'm guessing the better compression on the engine busted open this bad seal? I expect to change everything I can out on this truck, I'm using it to learn how to do some repairs on a car, and it gets me out in the garage more often Thanks in advance if you know whats under there. I could take a picture if you like, all I know is its under the engine on the drivers side, the reservoirs clean and dry everywhere around it and all the lines coming out of it on the top half.

It could be anything from the master cylinder even an internal leak. To the rear proportioning valve to the ABS system or the lines busted or the wheel cylinders. Good luck. The FAQ in this section (just a few posts above this one) has the service manual you can download which will have tons of pictures.

Thanks Crazy, I think when I get it up I should be able to see it, its not a small leak. Master cylinder looked completely dry so I think its a valve. I'll keep you updated, great to have you on this site answering so many questions, I'm going to save this damn truck, this kid that had it before me was terrible to the engine and screwed in all kinds of stupid lights on top and a chrome box on the back. Even put a winch on, wtf was he winching?

found it! those closest two look like the master cylinder return lines for fluid, the one leaking looks like its the one that goes to the front driver brake. Whats the name of that valve I'm looking at that goes between the line to the cylinder and the brake, I can't tell if its the valve there or the seal between the line and the valve or the line itself. I think its probably safest to remove it all completely. Anything I should get before I work on this specifically? Brake cleaner? Caps for the end of the lines I'm not working on? Any input would be appreciated, thanks guys

Definitely get some brake clean and brake fluid. That block looks like a distrabution block. Make sure the flare nuts are tight. Other than that just take it all apart and find out what failed and fix it. Good luck and let us know how it goes.
