Default 88' dakota, Steering column problems.

I changed my steering column after the tilt gear stripped out or whatever it is, and now I have no power whatsoever. when I turn the key like I'm trying to start it, the door buzzer comes on. all plugs are plugged in in the correct places, I checked, rechecked, and checked again. I'm about ready to get a couple gallons of gas and a match and burn it to the ground.

The only thing I can think could be the problem is I got the column out of an 89' dakota because there were no 88's in the yard.

I can't figure it out, I'm about to burn my truck to the ground, and I need it for transportaion A.S.A.P.

Possibly a bad ignition switch. See if your old one is swap-able with the newer column.

Is there anything at all wrong with the new column that you can see? May have to take it all apart again to see if you forgot anything

nothing that I can tell, other than the blinker lever don't work all that wonderfully. but the rest *other than the ignition...* works fine. but I'm not getting no power whatsoever none of my dash lights or gauges are coming on when I turn the key. I've tried adjusting the ignition switch back and forth and still nothing. Idk, I've run out of ideas, I'm ready to set a match to it.

88 and 89 should be the same. it woulda been easier to pull the org column apart and tighten the torx screws that back out to cause the problem. I have fixed too many to count for this issue

well problem was my ignition lever thingymajig came out of the doohicky that pushes/pulls it when you turn the key, and in my attempt to get out of the mcdonalds drive through I destroyed my steering column trying to get to that little bar which I didn't know was plainly exposed under the dash. so I just got a whole new one.

but I'm baffled as to what could have happened. I didn't ****** any connectors out, all the wires are tight in the connectors, all the connectors match and are plugged in in their rightful placed, I'm lost. and honestly, getting fed up with it. I guess I'll have to find a wiring diagram and grab a test light and figure it out wire by wire.
