Default Speedo issues

Well, I just finished a wiring repair which I'm going to have to redo tomorrow since my solder didn't take quite as I'd hoped.

This thing has been driving me nuts lately. Right turn signal stopped functioning (left signal stopped functioning about this time last year. Yay for repeated nightmares, right?) found that, have to redo the fix tomorrow.

Speedo is driving me nuts. I've yet to find anything in that lovely service manual that tells me what I need to know, and I've been looking, trust me. Speedo still reads accurate, I can verify that by RPM. That's when the speedo works. Driving along, suddenly the needle falls to zero. Hit a bump, it may or may not come back. Drive uphill, it may or may not come back. Accelerate harshly, it may or may not come back. Sometimes I'll be in 5th gear doing normal rpm range for 50 mph, and it's reading in the 20s.

I have not a clue, and I'm not willing to yank it out of my transmission until I know something more than I do now.

Suggestions?

Also: I can't get my damn glove box to lock when it's closed. Close the glove box, it won't lock. Open it, shut the latch by hand with the lid open, suddenly it locks. I can't seem to figure that one out either.

Ah, one more pleasant side note! Just set up my brand new Mig welder today, and got myself a decent angle grinder. All I need now is an air compressor and a few other doo-dads. This truck is not only getting body work and restoration, but a new paint job and some spiffy modifications! Problem being, I've got some know how on most of it, but I'm new to welding, so I'll have to practice on some scrap. My '86 Ford LTD is getting the same treatment (sans mods, save for a reversible stereo install here soon) but being painted by a professional who knows what the hell they're doing.

I'm about to spend autumn, winter, and all of next summer working on my truck. Oh yeah!

Ahh, and short of testing everything related to engine function (injectors and all the throttle body/regular engine management sensors) any suggestions on KILLING MY BLEEDING REV HANG! Cold weather, all the time. Warm weather, it seems to come and go, and it is RUINING my shifting... Not to mention I can have my clutch depressed for a full minute, shift into reverse and hear teeth clicking. Adjustment issue?

well depending on what year your truck is, it could have a bad speed sensor affecting the speedo. And possibly you need to bleed out your clutch lines or replace slave and master cylinder for the clutch issues? And for glovebox, check for the little striker bar latch and see if its bent too far back to catch.
