Default 87 Dakota overheating

I need some help with an overheating issue and maybe someone has experienced this before. I've got an 87 Dakota that I use as a work truck. It's been running hot lately and I'm having troubling finding the issue. whether i'm on the highway or idling the temperature keeps creeping up and up and up. The engine fan is spinning but there is no fan clutch, just a spacer. There are no leaks at all. I took out the thermostat. still running hot. I replaced the water pump. still running hot. today, i'm going to go home and flush out the heater core tonight.

Any ideas would help!

I had a problem like that on a ford explorer and after replacing waterpump.thermostate and flushed the system and still over heating and found out the hose from the radiater to the resivore tank was clogged after replacing that hose cured the problem no more overheating and try replacing your radiator cap to CAUSE IF THE HOSE IS CLOGED COOLING SYSTEM PRESSURE HAS NO WEAR TO TO GO AND WILL MAKE IT OVER HEAT TAKE THE HOSE OFF AT THE RADIATOR AND BLOW THROUGH IT AN D SEE IF AIR GOES THOUGH IT

check the radiator too. i had an overheating problem with my 93 and after replacing parts and blowing the radiator i found that the radiator was corroded on the front side(which was hidden by the condenser)

I had that happen once on my 87 Indy 500 Dakota after driving 65 for a few hours and sitting in Indianapolis Friday afternoon rush-hour traffic for an hour when it was ohhh 98 or so outside, replaced the rad cap which helped a tiny bit and then got the rad flushed, now it can't even think about getting hot, let alone overheating
