Transfer case removal
Hi again all,
I am trying to get my truck on the road before winter hits here, the last major thing i need to do is fix my transmission leak, it leaks pretty bad. I believe its either where the xfer case meets the tranny, or the rear of the tranny itself. My first question is, is there an o-ring seal or some sort of gasket where the xfer case bolts up to the transmission? My second question is, how do you get to the bolt on the top of the transfer case, ive tried multiple extensions w/swivel joints, and cant seem to break it loose, i have a feeling i need to remove the trans mount and lower the trans down a little. Any help would be great, thanks!

Oh and I forgot to mention, the only seal at the rear of the transmission, in between that and the transfer case, that I can think of would be the output shaft seal. Other than that, it may just be the dipstick o-ring leaking and running back there

Yes, its automatic, and i can watch it drip, where the transmission bolts up to the fer case. it looks like to me there is a hole or a cut out on the bottom of the transmission, where it bolts up to the xfer case, that is where i can see it leaking.
should be some kind of seal at the back of tranny when you pull tcase off youll see. just did same seal on mine but its manual trans. go with skf from napa or oem from dodge
