UPDATE Friday 8/24/12 3:30pm

So I put the SECOND new (remanufactured by Cardone) PCM from Autozone in my '95.

So far so good - running wise.

But now there is a new code I never saw with the other two brains.

MIL Code 62: SRI/EMI Mile not stored

Performance wise things are good so far.

But does anybody out there know what this means???

FSM says it is a PCM failure - not another one

Wondering if I should just live with it???

Thanks. Dave H. Appleton

I think that's just the "check EGR" light mileage which is different from the "check engine" lite; if so then no, nothing to worry about. It may go away once the computer adjusts itself internally

One meaning I found was

62* PCM failure SRI miles not stored: Unsuccessful attempt to update Service Reminder Indicator miles in the PCM EEPROM (memory).

Which doesn't sound to bad at all, if it is running good I would say its okay to live with.
If you wanted you can take it back and show them it is technically bad since you got the proof via the code.

THANKS once again guys for all the help and advice and the sharing of your priceless knowledge.

Drove her ~ 200 miles round trip this weekend Green Bay to Milwaukee.

Runs like new - literally.

Not bad for a 17 year old vehicle.

Now if it will just behave for awhile.

And I'm just going to ignore that code 62 - it's had more than enough service lately

Thanks.

Yeah, but last weekend, it started blowing a code AGAIN for cylinder #6 injector. Almost left me stranded a few hundred miles from home. Ran like DOG$HIT but I made it.

It was again cylinder #6 - injector was not working.

Following the FSM, it pointed to the ECM/PCM, not the injector - UFB. Again it is the reman ECM/PCM. PISSED ME OFF.

So I brought it back to Autozone and they gave me grief saying "Cardone is a well respected remanufactur-er".

Let me guess - in Mexico or Honduras or Guatamala or Africa maybe???

After talking to the manager's manager and telling her IN HER FACE that this is MY $350 on the line and I KNOW what I am doing with an Actron CP9190, voltmeter. ohm meter, FSM, THE DODGE FORUM, etc......

Got ANOTHER exchange.

The third PCM/ECM, so far, works like a charm after 200 miles today

NO FREAKING CODES OF ANY KIND!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

F'N A on reman stuff by Autozone/Cardone. IT IS CRAP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Lesson learned: better off at a junk yard.

when you replaced your computer the first and second time and maybe even the third did you have it flashed?

Bought a new pcm and fixed my issues.
My truck is having running issues too and when I unplugged my IAC while it was idling, the RPMs just surged up and stuff. No CEL came on or anything. I know the IAC is working fine tho because when the engine starts to bog and almost die you can see the IAC push the throttle linkage to regain power and then retract back in when the engine finally does.

I was assuming when purchased as a reman, it was reset or flashed. I have no clue how you would even do that. Could you with an Actron 9190???

I know you can clear codes but that is about it.

The THIRD PCM is still working like a charm - no issues since installed in September- purring like a kitten.

Just beware - remans are not new

And I think it is HEAT that the PCM does not like - that bugger does get hot in the summer and probably toasts some ancient components. Maybe I should put a fan on this one

95 Dakota running like a 2012!!!
