No info on a Magnum build...? Say what...?

Info is everywhere...Real question is how much money do you have?

There are a lot of good tuners out there. But the best way to do it is to have the vehicle on a dyno or do some pulls down the track. Every vehicle is different and it's hard to get a one size fits all tune to be the best for your vehicle.

Well there is a choice of tuning the PCM so don't be telling people there is no tuning/flashing choices just because your a D.I.Y.er.
They can customize it to your needs and put it on a handheld so it is a DIY project.

They have flashes for stroked engines to supercharged to custom. They have dyno tunes where they will dyno and tune it on the spot. They will come to your local dyno shop.

And if your a D.I.Y.er then get a stand alone system like Hahns5.2 did and do it all yourself. (Although he set it up for partial engine control, timing only IIRC for his 5.2 turbo engine.

$600 and another $200 depending on the wide band isn't too bad. My chip burner was under $100 and the Ostrich http://www.moates.net/ostrich-20-the....html?cPath=95, which lets me tune on the fly was under $200. Then socketing the SMEC was just time. So I'm into mine about $500, if you don't count my laptop and scan tool. But I can also move my stuff from car to car. I can tune mine, my Dad's, and my friends FWD turbo-mopars with my equipment. I also have my Snap-on Solus Pro to monitor data, I'm not sure what the system you're talking about has for data logging. A friend of mine has a stand alone on his Toyota pick-up that gives him data.

With MS2 I was doing fuel/idle only. MS3X works out of the box with our crank and cam sensors so I'm now controlling ignition as well.

Although I could do the research but how hard it is to setup the MS3X and tune on our engines?

as far as i know the oxygen sensor detects the air fuel mixture coming into the engine and adjusts the fuel to match. increase the airflow and the computer will increase the fuel. simple.

That only works to a certain point. Inside the computer it monitors "fuel trim." Short term it what it's doing now, long term is what it has been correcting for. Zero is perfect and then after +9 or -9 is where it sets a lean or rich code on OBDII vehicles, not much of a concern for us 1st genner's. If you open up your engine beyond what the computer can compensate for, you're going to have problems. Some you might notice like a lean misfire or some you might not notice like high Nox emissions or your engine running a little hotter than normal because it's lean. At wide open throttle the computer ignores the O2 and runs on preset parameters. So if you're a little to moderately lean at idle or part throttle, you're going to be REALLY lean at WOT.

It's a few hours of wiring which isn't bad with a set of schematics. Tuning is certainly a learning curve but well worth it.

Well since I have the mopar performance pcm how far can I go before needing to buy a stand alone system? Could I do heads cam and intake with the mp pcm and it run properly? I still have the stock pcm so if I had to I could send it off to be programmed right? Since im wanting more motor if I install the 5.9 with heads cam and intake could the stock 5.2 pcm be programmed for the 5.9? My goal is 400-450 hp

I ran my 5.9 with a 5.2 computer and the fuel trims were pegged lean. The computer couldn't add any more fuel. I now have the fuel trims down to zero by adding more fuel with my adjustable fuel pressure regulator. So with a cam and heads you're probably going to have to get a custom cal. You should be able to use a 5.2 computer to get your custom cal. I can use a 2.2 turbo computer to tune a 2.5 turbo engine. All your doing is tweaking the tables to change the parameters.
