Default STRANDED on side of the road - need urgent answers

I don't have a data signal to check messages here where I am working on my vehicle. I hitched to a wifi spot just to get this message out.

I have a 3.9ltr v6 (it is in the 94' B250 van but the engine is the same regardless and this truck section get's quicker & more replies)

- My oil sending unit activated a shut down sensor.

? #1 CAN I deactivate the shut down sensor and how? This will allow me to run the engine long enough to move off the busy street to a safe working location.

? #2 I am not finding the sending unit location? I am assuming it must be behind the fan belt on the front of the block somewhere? I am looking in the manual now to hopefully discover the location.

- After inspecting for the source it appears to be leaking from the rear passenger corner of the head. I am currently cleaning it to get a better exact idea.

- I need to move the vehicle and the leak is not bad enough to require me to hassle someone for a short tow.

- The gaskets are new and the heads were just replaced but it is possible a head bolt needs torked a bit tighter.

ANY urgent phone call or text would be appreciated to 310.531.388seven

thank you.

The oil sending unit on my 95 5.2 is beside the distributor on the passenger side.

The Dakotas and Rams don't have an auto shut down for when the oil light comes on. My guess you have a different type of problem. Check for spark and check for fuel pressure.

agreed.
the engine will lock up (if there is a real problem within) before the sending unit has anything to do with the computer at all
and the oil sending unit is on the back of the block these ain't no Shivvys....
very easy access after you pull the doghouse off that's between the front seats
I miss my B-van I had an '87 I have been wanting another (no minivans for me) but the wife has been resisting.... one might just have to follow me home someday
