Mine were on in the other Dakota I used to have, and it was because there was air in the lines. maybe you have a pin hole leak somewhere not big enough to be concerned about, but has let in enough air to trip the system

Went to try to bleed the brakes and wouldn't you know it there was no fluid coming out of either one of my back brakes so what may be problem? MC or some kind of valve?

could be the MC, or the proportioning valve. maybe a problem with the wheel cylinder. maybe a broken line somewheres down the line. I recently had to replace the rear line on the one I drive now because it rusted out and blew a hole in it

It isn't leaking anywhere and the pedal is still solid. Front brakes stop the truck just fine. I'm thinking maybe the proportioning valve is stuck not allowing any fluid to the rear. I don't think it is a wheel cylinder because it is both sides on the back not getting fluid. Could be a line after the prop valve.

or the split adapter on the diff. do you get fluid from the line itself (ie. un-do the line from the wheel cylinder and try getting fluid outta just the line.)?? or even try going back to the line that feeds the split on the diff and see if your getting fluid through the lines up to that point. but at that point, I'll bet its just the piston in the MC is stuck

I took the line loose on the abs hydrolic unit on the frame. It was the one that feeds the rear brakes and there wasn't any fluid there either. I started loosening the one where the fluid goes into the valve and some fluid started coming out so I just tightened it back up. I'm guessing this means that valve is more than likely bad. Am I correct or do y'all thinking should do further tests to see if it's something else?

Ok new update. I put a new MC on the truck today and it didn't help so I pulled the ABS hydraulic unit off the truck tore it all apart and cleaned it up real good. Good news is I now have good fluid flow to the rear brakes. I have blead the brakes several times but the abs and ibrake lights are still own. Think I still have air or possibly another problem?
