The plastic sending unit needs to be replaced in the '89 Dakota. I can't find a replacement sending unit for the truck. I was thinking about replacing it with a sending unit from a OBD-II truck for the higher fuel pressure. I noticed that how the sending unit is fastened to the tank is different. Because of this is it possible to put this type of sending unit into my tank?

 

What is your problem to begin with?
A bad fuel pump?
A bad fuel gauge float?
The entire sending unit body is broken?
