Default raising front of 1988 dakota

can anyone tell me how to raise the front end of my dakota? its way to jacked up in the back due to the wrong axle which had the leaf spring brackets reversed so now its jacked up in the front and looks kind of odd. how can i jack up the front, what tools do i need, and how far can i get it up without buying new parts?

Is your truck 2wd or 4x4?

2wd:
v8 springs if you have a v6 for 1" lift.
coil spacers can give you up to 2" of lift.
or you can find a set of longer coil springs

4wd:
find the torsion keys at the back of the torsion bars, spray some wd40 or similar on the bolt, wait a bit, then find the longest breaker bar you can or an impact gun and tighten the bolt. New or modified torsion keys may be required depending on how much lift you need.

Yes get some spring perches and weld them on the bottom of the axle, cut off the old ones. http://www.summitracing.com/parts/SUM-720025/

Thanks.
Just get it set in place tighten it all down, and slowly drive to your local muffler (if its close by) shop where they can weld it in.
