Default Transfer Case Gone !!

so i have been complaining about a clunking sound in my truck and i think i finally figured it out, today i put my truck in 4wd and it engages perfectly, then i switched it to nuetral on the transfer case and nuetral on the column and everything seemed ok until i tried to put it back in 2wd or 4wd or 4wd Low and it was grinding uncontrolably and when i tried to leave the transfer case in nuetral and shift the trans to park grinding bad.. i had to shut the truck off in order to put everything back in 2wd.... so is my transfercase done for ??????

Sounds like improper shifting technique. Search around, it's been discussed more than once.
