Default White Foam (Seal) on Blower Motor Box

Hello,

I am replacing the blower motor in my 1995 dodge dakota sport. When I took the cover off of the blower motor box, I noticed there is a white rubber type foam where it seals.

Do I need to replace the seal? Is this RTV? If it's not RTV can I use RTV to seal it up? If not what would you guys recommend?

Thanks

It would be best to seal it back up. RTV would be best so it doesn't break down in high heat.

Is regular RTV okay to use? I've heard of people using "dum dum" or 3M strip caulk. Is this stuff better? Or is RTV okay. Is it going to be a real bi*ch to get it off if at a later date if I use RTV?
