If you don't have a Magnum engine what do you have? All V6 and V8 92-up were Magnums. The only way your 92 can't have a Magnum is if it is a 4cly Or a Non-Magnum engine was swapped in. The power to the coil is provided by the ASD really. The negative is a specific pluse given by the PCM when cranking. Are you sure you have correct power on the coil?

360s in 92 were not yet magnum but then again they were not puttin 360s into Dakotas stock that year yet either (the 360s were a year behind the 318s)

Where are you located? Maybe a forum member that lives in your area can help you out?

can you put up a pic of your engine? I want to see what it is.
there is nothing in the distributor that can go bad other than a hall effect pickup plate; no advance weights no points etc... changing a distributor for that, is a waste.
could be a corroded cap and rotor even

Yup you do have a Magnum like I stated ALL 92-03 V6 and V8 have Magnum motors, which is a good thing with electronic mulitiport fuel injection.

I doubt your getting spark, I suggest looking at the notorious splices, check the FAQ in this section for a write up, it is a few posts above this one.
