v8 swap help

Default v8 swap help

hey guys if you have read any of my threads you know im building my truck for 12s at the track and i just so happened to find a mint dakota 5 speed for cheap it has a v6 in it but the body is like its off the show room floor would i have any trouble swaping my 318 and nv3500 into it ? cause it would be nice to have everything on the truck mint.

As much as I love 5-speeds, you're almost certainly going to be quicker and more consistent on the track with an automatic. Keep that in mind.

True. I was racing my automatic Dakota against a friend with a 4.6 manual Mustang at the strip. He got the jump on me but because I have an automatic and he has to shift, half way down the track I gained and passed him.

its a 92 dak and mines a 95 both reg cab short bed.

Then it won't be a problem, just swap over everything.

yes. but, how much cooler would a 12 sec 5 speed be?
