Default tranny question

I just got a 1993 Dakota with a 5.2 ,auto and 4x4. from the looks of it and info I found on here it appears to be a 46rh. the tranny has no reverse and slips bad in forword gears. my question is. can a 93-98 jeep grand Cherokee 5.2 46rh work in my truck? like just a simple swap no making things work. I ask because I cannot find a 46rh anywhere in my area for my Dakota but I have found lots for the jeep. what about one from a dodge ram and if so what years do I need to look at. and will my transfer case bolt to one of these trannys?

No the Jeep GC ones won't work.

Your choices is Dodge Ram, Dakota, Ram Van. 92-95 V8 Magnum a few Ram V6's came with it.
