Did you do a wet compression test to see if the compression in any cylinders increased after adding some oil? It can be an indication of worn rings.
with a range of 157-170 I seriously doubt there will be much increase.

I've heard of people having luck with putting something like ATF fluid (as it has alot of detergents) in your cylinders (not much) and letting it sit for a while, to see if it will free up stuck rings.
gotta be careful here, how much you put in, can do so thru the intake... too much though can hydrolock the engine...

Just because a couple people have had good luck with vehicles not burning oil after having them sit for a couple years doesn't mean that yours can't have stuck rings.
true, but again with those kinds of compression numbers it's doubtful (yes possible though) I'd change all the fluids and filters and just run it a while beore you do much, watch the gauges and the engines for signs of distress though. Could be clogged PCV valve or PCV breather filter or vacuum line to the PCV valve, or could be a bad intake gasket allowing water/antifreeze into the cylinders.... which isnt a huge deal to fix, certainly not expensive but will consume a good afternoon's worth of work
