I'm in the same boat, want a metal hood but not much else but fiberglass out there. One of those sites had an old school Shaker Hood for our trucks, anyone got thoughts on how that might look?

You could always get a steel cowl and weld it onto your hood. They are cheap and you can get just about any size you can think of. Not too hard to make functional. I got a harwood aero III scoop on craigslist for 50 bucks that will be going on my next dakota project.

my friend cut the hood on his mustang, raised the the middle and welded in metal patches on the side.

Moparnut, did you cut out the slots in your hood or did you leave them closed? I cut mine out to make it somewhat functional with the K&N FIPK, prob doesn't really help any unless I'm at highway speeds, but at least it helps keep the underhood temps down a little.

They are still closed but I am looking at opening them up to make them functional. That will be this next years project as right now I have the motor out so I can rebuild it faster. And the hood is off to do some fabricating under the hood too make it like the real deal was on the challengers from back in the day.
