Default Transmission

Well, I had to bite the bullet. My transmission in my dakota is acting worse and worse. I just dropped it off at Earl Brothers transmission shop. My estimate was between 1200-1500.00 total rebuild with new torque convertor. My torque convertor was not disengaging when I was coming to a stop. I could downshift manually, but on upshifting it would lockup on shifting to second gear. I get a year warranty/12,000 mile. It didn't sound all that bad. The shop is suppose to call me tommorow with more details after they have it torn down.

be sure you have your shop remove the check valve in the coolant line, AND flush the lines.

after you clean the trans. add this to your*chrysler*trans. an external fluid filter
1. go to auto-zone. get 2210, its called a power steering filter, but it is for transs to. it is for 3/8 tubing. by (magna-fine) be sure to use high pressure hose. Reff:http://www.magnafilter.com.au/magna-fine.html*
2. for other sizes wix 58964 5/16 tube size reff:http://www.wixfilters.com/filterlook...sionfilter.asp

NEW SUBJECT: .distributor moisture fix. Some chrysler distributor cap that has an air vent, needs to have the vent plugged. Best to use JB-weld. But there might be some brands that run air through as part of the system, dont seal them

The shop said that they would remove the check valves on the lines. I'm thinking about dropping off a trans cooler that my son bought brand new for his old jeep, to the transmission shop.
