yes o2 sensor i only had 1 but it was in a ****ty place the replacements are 3x the size of the original

I found that I had dirty gas that was causing many of my problems. There were also several issues with bad sensors, the last of which I hope to change today.

I have replaced the cap and rotor along with wires and plugs, TPS and IAC and the computer had an internal issue so I found a used one that made a significant difference. The exhaust system was in bad condition so I replaced the exhaust pipe and muffler without a catalytic converter. I also made my own base plate for the intake manifold and installed it.

Today I will replace the temperature sensor and that will, hopefully, be the end of the changes. The truck is great when it is running good, something I hope to experience more.

Why did you make a base plate for intake? Was it leaking if so how can you tell?

Look inside the intake and if you can see oil it likely has a blown gasket. I made a new base plate because the steel one expands at a different rate than the aluminum plenum.
Yesterday I installed a new temperature sensor. No difference on initial run and much difference this morning. The truck usually requires being plugged in to start on cool mornings. Not so today. Started right up and ran well. Let it idle and it warmed up quickly and faltered slightly when I took it for a drive.
I hesitate to say that I might be winning!

Lets see what tomorrow brings.

Hesitation on this is good. My truck will idle just fine but die after 10 min. I have no leaks. I've became a parts changer on this truck it seem it dies when it gets to operating temperature is yours the same?

I am at the point that i will take the truck to the dealership and have an analysis done to determine further issues. I am not getting codes from the key switch method so I guess things are pretty close. I wish I had points and a carb. I know how to fix those.

Did you replace two temp sensors or just one? Some times the with read different temperatures and it will cause problem like you are having. I also changed my idle speed a couple 100 rpm.

I changed the temp sensor on the left side of the thermostat housing. ( Thats your right as you lean over the rad.)
This morning I went out a bought a new battery and everything works better now. The voltage on the old battery was 11.5. I will go and start it tomorrow morning and see what happens.

It seem like every time I fix something the truck works better for a couple of days and them goes for s)7^*99 again. Really getting pissed!.

I feel your anger. I would change the cam and crank sensor with a new one not from the junkyard. Do you have fuel and spark when it dies?
This what I've replaced on my 95 3.9.....
Fuel pump, oxygen sensor, removed cat, coil, wires, plugs, cap, rotor, coil, pick up, cam sensor, crank sensor, battery, map sensor, iac, tps, tried 3 ECM, ignition switch, tried new asd and fuel pump relay.
