Bump shift problem
Hey,
I have an automatic 95 crew cab with the 5.2 engine, and sometime i have a problem with it shifting.
Sometimes from Reverse to Drive it will hesistate to shift for a few seconds, sometimes 'jumping' into gear.
Also sometimes happens when I come to a stop sign, ill stop, press gas a little, and the truck will 'jump' into gear, sometimes squeaking the rear tire.
I bought this truck about 8 months ago, and used it a few times a month to haul our jetski to the lake and back, some around town driving. Havnt had much worry about this issue, but I am concerned of course.
I noticed the transmission fluid looks brand new, bright pink, which i was happy to notice at first. I was just reading that the wrong transmission fluid can cause a 'bump shift' but i wasnt able to find the exact definition of this. I am thinking it is what is going on with my truck.
I dont have any shifting issues in any other gear than 1st.
Thanks and look forward to hearing input!

The fluid should be more red then pink. It might help to do a full fluid/filter change on the transmission, as well as adjustment of the bands. Any shop can do it for you for $100 which is reasonable.
