hope some of you can help me out... went to pop the hood on my 95 dakota last night to check the oil ....pulled the hood release and nothing happened .. i think the release cable broke...so what can or do i need to do to get the hood open?? is there a way to pop it going though the grill?? thanks for any help

 

My best suggestion is that maybe the cable broke. I would say try to take apart the handle and see if you can pull out the cable. Then see how long the split is and try to trace it down. You might have to pull the driver tire out and see if you can access the cable housing through there or maybe ever access the latch mechanism.

 

GOT IT!!!! not sure how it happened but the cable end pop off the hood release?? but what i did to open it was to go up from under the bumper and using a small but long screw driver i slid it up in to the release catch and just pried it over a little and the hood pop open... ...hope this can help someone out again someday
