i had keyless entry/alarm(due to multiple thefts from my truck) installed on my 93 and the business also installed the power lock module(it was a few extra $$$ not to expensive). the only thing is when i sold my old truck i ripped the whole alarm system out and had the company install it in my new car, etc...,etc...

Yeah. I can probably take some pictures. I do have one question, if anyone knows the answer to, I would appreciate it. What color is the constant 12v wire that goes to the radio? I think that is the wire I am going to connect the keyless entry to. (Unless there is an easier option to connect?) The kit will be here on monday and hopefully I can find some time to install it next week sometime. I'll keep you posted.

red or pink(in my case it was pink) but you might have better luck tapping into the 12v constant running to the ignition switch(thats how the installers ran mine).

Oh yeah! I never thought of that one. Is that the same colored wire also or is it different? Thanks for the good info.

Cool Finished the Project!

Ok so I finally got it done! (a few days ago). I now have power locks! I went from having manual everything to power locks with a keyless entry! I bought a kit on ebay that was $34 and it came with everything you need, exept tools. It was kind of difficult, but hopefully will worth it in the end.

So here is how I did it:

1. Remove the door panel. First undo the two screws on the mirrow and by the door handle part. Then take off the window crank by popping off the cap and then undo the 8mm bolt holding it on. Then unscrew the plastic lock off the top of the panel. Then slide the handle trim to the end of the door and it should pop off. >> (mine were really tricky to pop off). Then pop all the clips off the outside of the panel (probably like 12) and lift the door panel off the door.

2. Start to pull away the original plastic that is glued onto the door.

3. Start running the wires that came with the kit through black boots in the doors. Make sure they you are out of the way of the windows!!!!! If you are you will slice your wires in half!!!! (Make sure you test this!) I also taped the wires to the bottom of the door and wrapped them all in tape just extra protection.

4. Look for a good sport to mount the actuators. I mounted it parallel with the rod lock.

5. Now bend the rods that came with the kit to the size that they need to be to reach the locking rod on the door. Use the clap to secure it. That way you can also adjust it at anytime you need.

6. Plug the wiring that you ran through the doors into the actuator.

7. Now mount the black box that came with the kit that controls the key fob near or around the fuse box/underneath the steering wheel area. I used zip ties for mine because it is really hard to get a drill in that tiny area with your face smashed in there too!

8. Now with all of the wiring run to the doors now plug the harness into the black box.

9. Ground the black wire somewhere. I did mine to a bolt on the emergency brake plate.

10. Connect the power (red wire) -- I ran this wire into the fuse intended for door locks. (even though I have manual locks).

11. Test the locks with your key fob and make sure they work! If they don't retrace the wires and make sure that they are correctly wired and in the right place.

12. If all is good, then reinstall the door panel back on and you now have power locks!

If you have any questions let me know.
