Default Considering Power Locks...

So I have manual locks and am pondering switching over to make them power locks. I have done some research and found somethings, but I would like all of your opinions on this. So here is my question:

Would it be easier to buy new parts off ebay, (releys, wires, etc.) or strip one off a junkyard truck?

I understand that there is not a lot of room to work in the door panel, but I'm not to worried about that part. The part I am most worried about is the wiring. Is there something that just plugs into the fuse box or will I have to take the fuse box out and wire it by myself. I know it will need constant power (like the radio has).

Many people have said also that there is already wires in my truck even though I never had the option from the factory. Is this true? If so where would I look to find those wires. I would like to get a keyless entry with a remote insead of having to change door panels (because I still need my window crank). Hope this all makes sense! Thanks in advance for the input on this post. I appreciate it.

When I got my '93 V6 in 1997, the dealer mentioned to me he could install power locks, windows, etc. if I wanted it. Now, I wish I had done it! Anyway, since he mentioned it and it didn't seem to be a big deal to him, I'm thinking it must be a pretty easy job. I'd also like to do that to mine. I guess you and I might be in this together! I just don't know how my time to do it will be.

Yeah! I think it would be cool. I don't really care about windows, but I think it just gets old getting your key out everytime to unlock the door. (Especially in a heavy rain storm or something). Power locks would be awesome!

getting the parts from a junk yard how would you get a remote to communicate with it?

Hmmm, good question. Let's keep this going, maybe we can learn how to do this! I'd sure love to have it now!

All that would have to be done is get all the parts from the junk yard to convert it to power and then buy an aftermarket keyless entry kit. Or just buy a kit that has the locks and everything, no buttons would be required.

So I just bought a kit off of ebay and am having it shipped. It has the keyless entry system with the fob and everything. It cost $34. I am way excited to get it here and put it on.
