Default Adjusting air pump/water pump belt.

Reinstalling the belts on my 3.9l 87' Dakota and the p/s, and alternator belts were easy but I'm having a bit of difficulty with the air pump belt. First what was odd was the bolt and nuts appeared to be metric instead of SAE. Anyway the pivot bolt here:

It took a lot of force to break it loose and it began to make cracking noises with every turn once it finally did, like a rusty exhaust bolt but at the same time I worried it may be reverse threaded.

I have the tension set and tightened the other bolt you have to loosen and really have no idea how I am supposed to tighten the pivot bolt. Are you just supposed to let the nut's "tab" bottom out against the pump while tightening it or am I missing something here?

Thanks

Hmmm, that looks different than mine. I don't know about that tab either. If my pic is not too big, here is what my '93 looks like:

93 will be a single serpentine belt, 87 I believe has 3 different belts.

No worries, basically it was how I thought the "nut" just bottoms out against the pump. Don't understand why there wasn't any sort of attachment for a socket or drive on the nut plus the tab though.
