Default 96 Dakota 2.5 stalls when stop giving gas

Starts ok, revs ok when giving gas. But as soon as I take my foot off the gas, it dies. I disconnected the fuel line at the fuel rail, and when the fuel pump is energized fuel comes out with pressure. So it is getting fuel, and it has spark since the engine turns....any tips on what to look for?

Been doing some research, I am going to take the IAC and clean it up. Should probably take the Throttle body and clean it as well. Seem to recall the engine hesitating from time to time, as if it was going to stall, would give it more gas then it would be ok. I'll post my results.

Let us know how it goes. I've read you should use that special cleaner for that, or maybe it's maf cleaner? Oh, how's fuel filter?

Fuel filter is in the fuel tank, I am going for the easy and more accessible parts first. Fuel filter will be next...

Oh, right, they moved the filter on newer models. I'd wait on that too!

Fixed!! I replaced the IAC with a new one, and it is running great! It even sounds different, stronger. And indication that it needed to be cleaned or replaced was the fact that at low idle it felt as if it was going to stall.

The new part cost me $50 dls. I was just going to clean the old one but it was pretty nasty, so I just went ahead and bought a new one for my piece of mind. Man, what a difference it makes. Here is a pic of what the part looks like, very similar to this how to: https://dodgeforum.com/forum/dodge-r...n-the-iac.html

Very easy to do. Should probably be done if it has never been cleaned or replaced before.
