96 Dakota oil pressure problem

OK so we have a 96 dodge sport 5 speed and we noticed when we derive for a bit oil pressure drops to zero until its shut off. After about 10 minutes its than fine when started back up. What could be the problem?

Check the oil pressure with a mechanical gauge, not the one in the truck. This will rule out a gauge/sending unit problem.
