Default Transmission Question(s)

Hi......me again....more Dodge/Mopar related questions.....

1). How would I go about being able to visually tell what manual transmission I have? IE...a NV3500 or a NV4500.

2). Is there any vacuum lines running to or for said manual transmission.

Thanks again guys! So far you guys have been able to help me solve all my Dakota related problems. :-) You guys rock!!!

I don't believe the NV4500 ever came in a Dakota, so you should have the NV3500.

The only hose that should be running out of your transmission is the vent hose.

And a 5.9l 360 would bolt up to an NV3500?

Yes a NV3500 came stock in Dakotas. The NV3500 will bolt up to a 5.9 V8 Magnum, but you will need the specific flywheel for the 5.9.

Just double checking. Replaced the clutch last weekend (Chevy clutch...strange...) and now the truck just feels "off". There is a whistle under acceleration and below 2000 rpms she feels like she is lagging. Once you get her above 2000 she is a screamer.

At the same time the clutch was replaced I also replace both front and rear u-joints on the drive shaft.

Did you replace the throwout bearing and use a tool to properly align the clutch disk during installation? Resurface or replace the flywheel? There isn't much you could have done wrong.

Yup...did all of that. I think something might have gotten pinched when we restabbed the transmission though.....
