Default Need help with ignition problem

When I went to start it tonight it went through all of the steps and all of the lights came on and everything was normal, but it won't let me turn it any further to start it. (Even though I stated it several times during the day). So I tore into it a little bit and everything looks to be fine, so I sprayed some of that graphite lube all over it and still nothing. The steering wheel lock is fine and works too, so that is not the problem. Is there another way to get it working or do I need to replace it? If so, what do I need to replace? The whole switch or just the lock cylinder with a new key? Thanks a bunch! Hope that all makes sense.

In my stickshift Audi I turn the key but nothing happens unless the clutch is in, but in my stickshift RX-7 I can't physically turn the key unless the clutch is in. I'm not sure what kind of clutch interlock the Daks have, but might be worth checking.

Thanks for the reply. I wish it were that simple. Believe me I have tried that several times, but thank you anyway.

ah no - I meant a broken interlock. I think I recall that these had that problem from time to time.

Edit - in the meantime, you could always hotwire it from under the hood (or even use one of those starter trigger things). Because you can turn the key to the run position, it will at least give you transportation
