Default Not having a good day help

Well i have a couple things, i took the back diff cover off and found this hopefully i can get the pics posted, i have no idea what has came apart in my rearend and the second is i can't get my durango running it will start but as soon as i take my foot off gas it dies 98 durango

unfortunatly I am not familiar with those peices in the pictures you posted. Does the rear end work like it should with those out like that? And also, what promoted you to take the diff cover off? Was it making any strange sounds?

If you are not able to drive it in that condition, then I would suggest going to a salve yard and taking a new spider gear unit out of a Dakota there.

I was driving it and running it fine but the RE was leaking so i was going to replace the gasket. I looked in my hayne's man. and that gear looking thing thats bolted on the ring gear is not even in the book so it's aftermarket and when i turn corners it scratches both tire's .

See that 1/4" bolt hole in the bearing cap in your second picture? Those clips bolt into there (one on each side) and keep the spanner nuts (carrier bearing adjusters) from turning.

If the gears and everything look good, you might be able to get by with just new clips and bolts. And some Loctite.

That thing is your ABS tone ring. It's not aftermarket.
