Found a stellar deal on a rebuilt tranny for an 1986 360 tranny! I know I'll have to drill a slot for the sensor but any thing else I should be aware of?

Other info it's going in a 1992 dakota with a blown tranny

 

Yes it will bolt up. But it won't work without a little modification and it won't be a good idea since the 86 probably doesn't have Over Drive and a TCC.

 

Maybe ill pass! Ahah thanks. The other motive I have a frame swap wheel base and width line up so that's good news, when ever this actually gets going ill let you guys know. The 92 is my parts truck with Frame rot and a bad tranny but I think I could make a mean 4x if I put enough hours into it.

What kind of years of tranny should I be looking for? I was hoping to get one out of a ram with the frame? Should I just look for the stupid rare magnum first gen?

 

88-96 I believe.. 46rh trans.. Found in rams, grand Cherokee n obviously Dakota's w the 318!! U can use one out of ram w a 360 but u will need a 318 tourqe converter due to the balance differences.. The 318 is balanced in the crank n the 360 is balanced w the tourqe converter...
