Default 1992 dakota lifting questions.

Hey I am new to this site. I have a 1992 dodge dakota le. I have been working on it for a while now. It runs great but I am still waiting more height added on. I have a 2" body lift on it and the t-bars all the way up. It is sitting level right now. It also has 235/70/15 but I am looking for some 31/10.50 for it right now. Is there anything else I can do to it to make it higher without spending a fortune to get?

Okay I have read some of the lifting posts for my truck. My shackels are already turned and now wondering is there any ways to extend my shackels.I am also wondering if it would be better to go with taller key for my t bars or if it would be better to go straight axle. If you guys have any thing that will help me make a decision please let me know.

Solid axel will give you the ability to lift it all you want so if you can, do it!

A solid axle is definitely the "right" way to do it, but it's a fair amount of work and it isn't cheap. Prices will vary widely depending on what kind of suspension you go with, how cheap you can find parts, and how much of the work you do yourself, but expect to spend at least a couple of grand.

Like they say if you have to ask your not ready for a SAS, mine took 6 months and over $2,000.

Stick with add a leafs for the rear 2-3in. And indexed torsion bar keys 2-3in. You can fit 33's. That is a 2-3in suspension lift for under $200. In combination with the 2in body lift that is a 4-5in lift.

Okay just so uou know I have done a sas on a Nissan pickup. Plus I have a friend who has done 2-3 of them. He told me he will help me with it. Plus I work with this guy in a mechanic shop. It has two lifts in it and he said he will gladly let me use it. Thanks for the info. I just wanted to know what would bee better. Not sure what I want to do yet. Still thinking. I only need 3-4 more inches.

It's really not hard if ur have macanic skills n able to measure n use a welder your fine.. I payed 550 for my Dana 60 high pinion w 4:10 ratio, 150 for 6" gm front 47" leafs, about another 200$ for ujoints for axle shafts, pads rotors n calibers.. 100 bux for a drop pitman are 6" off a xj jeep w tapered hole.. N maybe another 500 ish for materials.. I kno u can do it for way cheaper w a d44 off a wagoner or j20 for a 8 lug n I'd go w the matching d60 n get rid of the ****ty 8 1/4
