Default Hallowed out cat?

So I've got my truck cut just after the cat (in the middle of switching exhaust systems) I'm just wondering if I should hallow it out or not. (I don't have emissions up here I'd just keep the cat case for traveling so it looks like it would pass) so my question is leave it till it plugs or cut it out now? She's only got 163000 kms that's 10100 miles for you Americans ahaha

I was following a Gen2 Corvair the other day. You could smell the unburned hydrocarbons a half mile (a bit less than a km for Canadians) away.

There's vir-tually (why does the censor cut vir-tual?) no performance or fuel mileage penalty for leaving the emissions stuff on and functioning. And your rig will run cleaner. I guess I'd just leave it alone and be a good steward of the local air quality.

A good, modern cat will not kill your MPG or your performance.

It's a computer error code, but if I recall you're OBD1 and that's an OBD2 code.

Yes obd1 I only have one o2 censor before the cat so it wouldn't change how it runs it would just allow more **** to blow our instead of catching it. Also helps dampen my exhaust so it doesn't sound like a res rocket
