Default Quick "low fuel" light question

So mine used to work. I'm not sure if it still does. Can somebody check and confirm if it comes on with the other lights when you first start the truck? I'm 20mi past where it usually comes on and I have no gas gauge... I've been carrying a spare gallon just in case, and I can't for the life of me remember if it used to light up with the initial key turn.

I'm in a '95 V8, just fyi.

Thanks... Yeah, my light has been working with my dead fuel gauge since I bought the truck. It's just making me nervous.

Only in a Dakota do you worry when your MPG goes UP!
